Placemaking Award at the 2022 LGFA Taituarā Local Government Excellence Awards

Applications for the 2022 LGFA Taituarā Local Government Excellence Awards are now open. For the first time, this year there is the Placemaking Award category!

Applications will close at 5pm on 18 February 2022. The winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner, to be held in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington on 5 May 2022.

What are the award categories?

The awards, held annually, recognise excellence and innovation in local government management. The seven categories that are recognised in the awards each represent a key characteristic of the effective management of local communities;

  • The Placemaking Award

  • The Datacom Award for Transforming Service Delivery

  • The MartinJenkins Award for Collaborative Government Action

  • The GHD Award for Environmental Leadership

  • The Minister of Local Government Award for Council-Community Relations

  • The Capability Group Award for Organisation and People Development

  • Te Tohu Waka Hourua - The Buddle Findlay Award for Māori-Council Partnerships (the Double Canoe).
